What drives osteoarthritis
Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common form of arthritis. It wears away the cartilage that cushions the joint and inflames the joint lining, causing pain, stiffness and loss of movement.
OA usually begins with an injury or long-term stress on a joint. That sets off an inflammatory response carried by two groups of molecules: cytokines, which signal inflammation, and proteases, enzymes that break down proteins. In a healthy joint, proteases help clear damaged tissue. In OA they stay switched on, digesting cartilage and releasing fragments that drive more inflammation.
Several protease families are involved, including matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), ADAMTS enzymes and cathepsins. Many past drug programs targeted one enzyme or one pathway at a time. Because OA has many drivers, we believe an effective disease-modifying treatment will need to act on several of them at once.
No treatment is currently approved to slow the structural progression of OA. A therapy that does is often called a DMOAD (disease-modifying osteoarthritis drug).

The company is “testing the waters” of a potential offering which will be conducted under a valid exemption under U.S. Securities laws. No money or other consideration is being solicited, and if sent in response, will not be accepted. Reservations and/or indications of interest involve no obligation or commitment of any kind on any party. This process allows companies to determine whether there may be interest in an eventual offering of its securities. The company is not under any obligation to make an offering. It may choose to make an offering to some, but not all, of the people who indicate an interest in investing. If the company does go ahead with an offering, it will only be able to make sales after it has filed offering documents with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The information in those offering documents will be more complete than the information the company is providing now, and could differ in important ways. You must read the documents filed with the SEC before investing.
